D.O. RIBERA DEL DUERO


Wine: SENDERILLO BARRICA 2007.  Bodega: Bodegas Torremoron. Grape Varieties: 100% Tempranillo.  Alcohol: 13% vol.  Ageing: 6 months in French and American oak..

General Notes: A fresh, young Ribera del Duero with exceptional flavour. Ready to drink young for those who prefer their wines with a slight hint of oaky, vanilla flavour. Serve at a slightly lower temperature than aged wines, between 14 and 16C.


Wine: SENDERILLO CRIANZA 2006.  Bodega: Bodegas Torremoron. Grape Varieties: 100% Tempranillo from vines over 20 years old. Alcohol: 13% vol. Ageing: 18 months in French and American oak barricas, prior to continued evolution in bottle.

General Notes: A high quality, medium bodied wine with perfect balance of mature fruit ans spicy oak.Well structured and long in the finish.. Serve between 16 and 18C.


Wine: SENDERILLO RESERVA 2005. Bodega: Bodegas Torremoron. Grape Varieties: 100% Tempranillo from vines over 40 years old. Alcohol: 13% vol. Ageing: 30 months in French and American Oak barricas, followed by bottle ageing

General Notes: A sophisticated Reserva of great complexity and persistent finish from one of the star wine-producing regions in Spain. The 2005 vintage was classified as 'very good' by the regulatory council of Ribera del Duero. Serve between 16 and 18C.


 

D.O.C. RIOJA


Wine: MARQUES DE REINOSA TEMPRANILLO BARRICA 2008. Bodega: Marques de Reinosa. Grape Varieties: 100% Tempranillo. Alcohol: 13.5%. Ageing: 4 months in French and American oak barricas.

General Notes: A modern style of Rioja which has been lightly oaked to round off the predominant fruit flavours of the Tempranillo grape. Soft tannins and a toasty touch provide a perfect balance to the fruit. Serve between 16 and 18C.


Wine: MARQUES DE REINOSA CRIANZA 2006. Bodega: Marques de Reinosa. Grape Varieties: 100% Tempranillo. Alcohol: 13%. Ageing: Minimum 12 months in French and American oak barricas prior to further evolution in the bottle.

General Notes: A full bodied wine with mature black fruits and balsamico, well integrated with oak. Balanced with good acidity and a long finish. An award winning wine (Gold medal Bacchus 2004 Madrid, Bronze medal in Decanter's 2009 World Wine Challenge) Serve between 16 and 18C.


Wine: MARQUES DE REINOSA RESERVA 2004 . Bodega: Marques de Reinosa. Grape Varieties: 100% Tempranillo. Alcohol: 13.5%. Ageing: 36 months in new French and American oak barricas then rounded off in the bottle before release.

General Notes: Complex, meaty and well-structured, this is a very special limited production wine made from the very best fruit of old vines Tempranillo, carefully selected by hand. The 2004 vintage is classified as 'Excellent' by Rioja Consejo Regulador. Placed 5th out of 169 Rioja Reservas 2004 tasted blind by Decanter magazine's select panel and a bronze medal accolade in Decanter's World Wine Challenge 2009.  Serve between 16 and 18C.

 


Wine: TOBIA SELECCION CRIANZA 2005. Bodega: Bodegas Tobia. Grape Varieties: 100% Tempranillo. Alcohol: 13.5%. Ageing: 12 months in French and American oak barricas prior to bottle ageing.

General Notes: A fresh modern wine from the new Rioja stable whose philosophy is to continually create new tastes and flavours.  A winner of various local medals and a regular winner of medals at the Bordeaux International Wine Challenge. Serve between 16 and 18C.


Wine: OSCAR TOBIA RESERVA 2004. Bodega: Bodegas Tobia. Grape Varieties: 100% Tempranillo. Alcohol: 13%. Ageing: 24 months in French and Hungarian oak barricas prior to bottling.

General Notes: A very special limited production Rioja made by Oscar Tobia, one of the new generation of Rioja winemakers. A long maceration process plus the mix of different types of oak give the wine a unique complexity of flavours underscoring the mature fruits (coffee, caramel, eucalyptus) whilst retaining much of the traditional Rioja style. This wine is a constant yearly winner of various medals at the Bordeaux International Wine Challenge and Spanish national and local competitions. Serve between 16 and 18C.


D.O. TORO


Wine: CAMPARRON CRIANZA 2006.  Bodega: Bodegas Francisco Casas. Grape Varieties: 100% old Tinta de Toro vines - average 40 years old. Alcohol: 13.5%. Ageing: 6 months in American oak

General Notes:  A fresh, vibrant Toro wine with exceptional dark, ripe fruit flavours balanced with soft tannins and well-integrated oak. Ready to drink now but will improve further with bottle ageing. Serve at room temperature, between 15C and 18C.


Wine: PIEDRA  AZUL 2008. Bodega: Estancia Piedra. Grape Variety: 100% Tinta de Toro. Alcohol: 14% Vol. Ageing: Unoaked

General Notes: A wine produced from hand picked, estate owned vines at over 600 metres in the Duero valley, 150 miles north west of Madrid. The large variations of diurnal temperature, combined with very little rainfall, result in a highly concentrated powerful wine. It has been left completely unoaked to ensure the top quality fruit comes through.  A veritable fruit bomb.




D.O. TERRA ALTA

Wine: GRAN MARQUES RESERVA 2005, Bodega: Cellers Unio, Grape Variety: Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon old vines, Alcohol: 13% vol, Ageing: 15 months in French oak (70%) and American oak barricas (30 %) before bottling.

 

General Notes: A quality Reserva from Terra Alta, with typically spicy nuances from the barrel ageing. Powerful and elegant, strong in fruit, soft tannins, long and enveloping, this is great with red meats and mature cheeses.Serve between 16 and 18C.


Wine: VINA AGUSTINA RESERVA 2005. Bodega: Cellers Unio. Grape Varieties: Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon old vines. Alcohol: 13% vol. Ageing: 8 months in American and 6 months in French oak barricas

General Notes: An excellent value Reserva wine from the 'Terra Alta' highlands of Catalonia, where old vines flourish up to 1000 metres delivering intense fruit flavours. Medium bodied with balanced fruit and oak, this wine is a versatile, easy drinking partner for most meat dishes and cheese or indeed on its own as an aperitif.




D.O. JUMILLA

Wine: VINA HONDA MONASTRELL 2008. Bodega: Bodegas Silvano Garcia. Grape Varieties: 100% Monastrell. Alcohol: 13.5%. Ageing: Unoaked, bottle age only before release.

General Notes: A classic style for Silvano Garcia, designed to show off the unique properties of the Monastrell grape and the heights it can reach when well handled.  Highly acclaimed in the US market with consistently high Parker points and winner of the bronze medal in the 2009 International Wine Challenge. Serve between 16 and 18C.


D.O. BIERZO


Wine: VINICIO MENCIA 2008. Bodega: Vinos del Bierzo Soc. Coop. Grape Varieties: 100% Mencia. Alcohol: 12.5% vol. Ageing: Unoaked

General Notes: A modern, clean, fruity tasting wine that is typical of the Mencia grape. Ideal for immediate drinking with most meat and rice dishes or summer barbecues. A perfect every day wine that is best served at 12-14C


Wine: VINICIO CRIANZA 2005. Bodega: Vinos del Bierzo Soc. Coop. Grape Varieties: Mencia and Cabernet Sauvignon from vines over 50 years old. Alcohol: 12.5% vol. Ageing: 16 months in French and American oak barricas.

General Notes: A short ageing period in oak gives this wine an extra complexity, whilst still permitting the fruit flavours to predominate. The grapes used are exclusively from the bodega’s finest vineyards, and provide a perfect example of quality Mencia wine, vigorous and well-rounded.


 

D.O. MONTSANT


Wine: LES SORTS JOVEN 2008 Carbonic Maceration. Bodega: Celler El Masroig. Grape Variety: 50% Carinena, 20% Garnacha, 20% Syrah, 10% Tempranillo. Alcohol: 13.5% vol. Ageing: Unoaked.

Tasting Notes: Deep cherry red with a powerful, clean, aroma of black berries that is confirmed to the taste. Best to drink now to appreciate the full fruity flavours produced using the carbonic maceration method, but could keep for two years if stored correctly.

General Notes: A wine made with carbonic maceration(bunches of grapes fermented whole, uncrushed); a great example of a full-bodied wine from Montsant that has strength and flavour, for those who prefer an up-front, fruitier taste with no hint of oak. Best to drink within a year to appreciate the full fruit intensity, but will mellow positively with bottle age. Serve at 16C.



Wine: CASTELL DE LES PINYERES 2002. Bodega: Celler El Masroig. Grape Variety: 50% Garnacha, 25% Carinena, Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah. Alcohol: 13.5% vol. Ageing: 12 months in French and American oak barricas

 

General Notes: An excellent value, oak-aged wine from 5 varietals, typical of the Montsant region style - full bodied with spicy, mature fruit flavours. Good for everyday drinking of a quality wine which would also go well at barbecues or with hearty casserole dishes. Ready to drink but evolves well with age. Serve between 16 and 18C.
